ARAMARK AWARDED CONTRACT FOR SPOONER SUMMIT
 Services include bike and cabin rentals, food and beverage operations and amenities
 
ARAMARK Parks and Destinations, a leading concessioner of national and state parks, is proud to announce that it has been awarded the contract with Nevada State Parks to operate recreational services at Spooner Summit in Lake Tahoe. The awarding of this contract expands ARAMARK’s presence in Lake Tahoe, which currently includes Zephyr Cove Resort and Lake Tahoe Cruises.
 
As of June 1, ARAMARK began managing Spooner Summit bike rentals, cabin rentals, a food and beverage station and a small amenities outlet.
 
“We are excited about expanding our operations to include the Nevada State Park at Spooner Summit and further building our relationship with the Lake Tahoe community,” said David Sloma, vice president of operations for ARAMARK Parks and Destinations. “Just as we do with our guests at Zephyr Cove, we look forward to providing our guests at Spooner Summit with memorable and enjoyable recreational experiences.”
 
Spooner Summit bike rentals are located on the east shore of Lake Tahoe at Spooner Lake and service a major trailhead for the Flume Trail and the Tahoe Rim Trail, both of which present spectacular, unobstructed views of Lake Tahoe. These and other trails feature hiking, biking and backpacking adventures for all skill levels. Spooner Lake can be found on Highway 28 near the intersection of Highway 50, halfway between Incline Village and South Lake Tahoe.
 
Under the Spooner Summit agreement, ARAMARK Parks and Destinations will offer sophisticated Kona mountain bikes for rent to guests with different levels of expertise, two comfortable hike-in backcountry cabins, a grab and go food station for snacks and refreshments as well as a small apparel and retail outlet. Spooner Summit bike rentals are just 5 miles from ARAMARK-managed operations at Zephyr Cove Resort and Lake Tahoe Cruises.
 
Located on the southeast side of Lake Tahoe, ARAMARK Parks and Destinations operates Lake Tahoe Cruises – M.S. Dixie II and Tahoe Queen - and Zephyr Cove Resort, offering a wide variety of activities and amenities to guests, making it a great destination for families and couples alike.
