Description
Black Bear Lodge has rescheduled the ribbon cutting event with the Tahoe Chamber to celebrate the opening of their new wine bar. The event will now take place Wednesday, July 18, from 5-7 p.m. and is open to the public.
The ribbon cutting was originally scheduled for June 7 and was postponed when Black Bear Lodge owner, Rachel Carlson, went into labor on June 5. Sadly, Rachel and Greg’s baby did not have a heartbeat when they arrived at the hospital. In memory of their daughter Aspen, all of the proceeds from the event will be donated to GAPPS – Global Alliance to Prevent Prematurity and Stillbirth.
“Please join us in celebrating Aspen’s life and the new neighborhood bar on July 18,” said Rachel. “If you can’t make it and would like to donate to GAPPS, we’ve set up a memorial fund in honor of Aspen online at: https://www.crowdrise.com/aspen-memorial-fund.”
The Black Bear Lodge’s wine bar will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 2-7 p.m. and will feature California wines, craft beer and small plate appetizers. Attendees at the ribbon cutting celebration will receive a 2-for-1 drink coupon for their next visit.
Rachel and Greg Carlson bought the boutique lodge in 2017 and reopened with new amenities. They added a unique wedding venue on the Ski Run Boulevard property and have hosted pop-up dinners and wine tastings for the community.
The new wine bar, built by Sierra Sustainable Builders, includes a live edge wood bar and vintage-style lighting. The bar has access to the back patio and to a 32-foot fireplace.
