Description
Most everyone has heard of healthcare reform, also known as Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act. But do you know how it will affect you? Whether you are a small business owner, large business owner, employed or unemployed – what does this mean for you? It will be important to know the choices you have so you can make informed decisions for your healthcare. The state insurance exchanges are opening October 1, 2013 for sign-ups for 2014.
If you are an employer and have questions like:
How do I calculate my part time and full time employees to get my total full time equivalents (FTEs)?
What if I have seasonal employees? Do I have to offer coverage to them?
I have heard of “Pay or Play”…what does this mean?
Do I qualify for tax credits and subsidies?
I have less than 25 employees, what does this mean for me?
I have heard of small business resources like SHOP, what is that exactly?
Do you live in the South Lake Tahoe region, and have questions like:
Obamacare…Reform…Affordable Care Act, what does it mean for me?
I already get health coverage through my employer – will anything change?
What is a healthcare exchange?
Do I qualify for tax credits if I pay for coverage?
I don’t have a job; do I still have to get health coverage?
I didn’t qualify for Medi-Cal before, will I now?
Both employers and employees alike have the opportunity to learn more about healthcare reform and what it means for them. Barton Health and The Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce are hosting two separate workshops, one for employers and one for the community-at-large to learn about healthcare reform and how it will affect them.
