Description
Join Keep Tahoe Blue for an unforgettable evening with Dr. Charles Remington Goldman, widely regarded as the “Godfather of Tahoe Limnology”, as he reports on a lifetime of scientific discoveries and a year of pivotal environmental milestones at the lake on October 2 at 5 pm at the Spurlock/Evers Environment and Education Center.
For more than six decades, Dr. Goldman’s groundbreaking research in Lake Tahoe has shaped how we understand, protect, and preserve one of America’s most iconic natural treasures, from advancing global lake science to partnering with the League to Save Lake Tahoe in the 1960s, to stopping destructive development. His work has inspired generations of young scientists and environmental advocates, earning him the Albert Einstein World Prize in Science in 1998, chosen by a panel of Nobel laureates.
In this intimate, family-friendly event, Dr. Goldman will offer a compelling “Year in Review,” sharing updates on Tahoe’s changing conditions, threats on the horizon, and emerging solutions grounded in science.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a living legend whose career embodies the League’s founding principle: Keep Tahoe Blue, through “science to solutions”.
