WHAT: Snapshot Day is a citizen-based water quality monitoring event of the Tahoe and Truckee River Watershed.
WHY: Learn about your local watersheds and collect data that provides a “snapshot” in time of water quality and stream conditions.?HOW:Citizen monitoring teams led by water resource professionals will field-test streams for dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids, pH and temperature; collect water samples for laboratory analysis of nutrients, sediment and bacteria; and conduct visual habitat assessments of the sites. Team leaders will share interesting watershed facts and provide information about how you can improve and protect your watershed.
