Camp Sunrise
Camp Sunrise is a FREE grief camp Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26 designed for children age 7?14 that have experienced the death of a family member. Children receive grief education and support through a variety of fun-filled activities and programs throughout the weekend. The camp begins late Friday afternoon and ends midday on Sunday.

A schedule of upcoming Tahoe Talks Brown Bag Lunches was announced this week by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. The popular lunch series resumed Wednesday, September 16 with a public preview of the new Bijou Bike Park in South Lake Tahoe. TRPA, in its capacity as the Tahoe Metropolitan Planning Organization, created the Tahoe Talks Brown Bag Lunch Series to provide a casual forum for people to discuss ways to strengthen and improve communities, make the region safer for bicyclists and pedestrians, and protect Tahoe's unique natural environment. Partners include the League to Save Lake Tahoe, One South Shore, Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition, and Lake Tahoe Sustainability Collaborative Community Mobility Group. Tahoe Talks Brown Bag Lunches are free and open to the public. They run from noon to 1:30 p.m. Locations vary, so please check each talk for specific details. Upcoming topics include: Wednesday, May 18:''It All Affects the Lake: Stormwater, Drought, and Other Water Issues at Tahoe.''Location to be determined. Wa She Shu It? Deh - Native American Festival Summer on the sublime shores of South Lake Tahoe can reawaken youth?s creative bliss, no matter your age. The 37th season of the Valhalla Arts, Music & Theatre Festival, which runs from opening night June 22 through the finale on August 31, is ambitious and free rolling this year. From high quality Americana & New Orleans roots music, to a Tony Award-winning wickedly pathological play to a jazz orchestra to immersive outdoor art camps for kids to an uplifting gospel sendoff, the creative arts offerings are plentiful and appealing to all ages.A very special event this year is the ?Boathouse Theatre 20th Anniversary? fête. Tickets for the entire summer festival season went on sale Friday, April 1 at www.ValhallaTahoe.com. Wander is one of the operative words for warm weather visitors to the historic, glorious scape of land Valhalla resides on. Folks can meander the massive 1923 Heller family estate, now the Tallac Historic Site. Valhalla Tahoe was formed in 1979 (as the Tahoe Tallac Association), and in 1984 became a non-profit assisting the U.S. Forest Service in restoring the three estates on the Tallac Historic Site and sponsoring/producing the annual Valhalla Arts & Music Festival. The site is now listed on the National Registry of Historic Sites. Concert events, both free and ticketed, theatre and visual art exhibitions are presented in three specific locales on the lush grounds: · The Grand Hall -With its massive 20-foot tall stone fireplace and walk-in hearth, it seats 120. · The Grand Lawn ?lush green that flows out from the Great Hall and seats 400. · The restored Boathouse Theatre- a stunningly unique arced space that was restored in the late 1980s with the support & vision of the famed Dr. Leo Buscaglia. Seats 164.
