3rd annual ?Light up South Lake Tahoe?
Join us for the 3rd annual ?Light up South Lake Tahoe? event and tree lighting. The South Lake Tahoe Fire Department will have its fire truck, along with the Police Armored Vehicle and Public Works Snow Plow decorated with white lights and will begin their procession at 6:00 p.m. starting at Stateline. Once the fire truck approaches businesses on Highway 50, we ask that businesses turn on their holiday lights and participate in ?Lighting up South Lake Tahoe.? The festivities will conclude at the ?Y? with the annual tree lighting, Lake Tahoe Children?s Choral group singing from grades 3-12, hot cocoa and cookies along with a visit by Santa Claus with photo opportunities.

Join us for the 3rd Annual ?Light up South Lake Tahoe? along Highway 50. A procession of a decorated fire engine, police vehicle and snow plow will begin at Stateline at 6pm. As the processions rolls down Highway 50, businesses will ?turn on? their holiday lights in a wave of lights. The procession will conclude at the ?Shops at the Y? with a tree lighting, Lake Tahoe Youth Choral Society singing holiday songs, hot cocoa & cookies and pictures with Santa! Business owners located on Highway 50 are encouraged to decorate their store fronts with holiday lights and ?turn them on? as the procession of decorated fire truck, police vehicle, and snow plow drive past on Highway 50. Holiday in History Museum Open House
Join the Lake Tahoe Historical Society with their Annual ?Holiday in History?, with Menorah lighting, caroling and Santa Claus arriving by sleigh to the Senior Center to hear children's requests for Christmas, phone calls to the north pole from the cabin, a wonderfully decorated museum with a period Christmas tree and plenty of refreshments, not to mention the 1930s cabin decorated for the Christmas holidays. Free admission and docent tours in the museum and in the holiday festooned 1930s log cabin.
