DESCRIPTION:Be prepared in 2014! Get caught up on the new employment laws and understand how they impact you and your business. Join your fellow Chamber members at this informative session that will present highlights of new California legislation and case law updates\, including new wage and hour laws\, expanded whistleblower protection\, and new protections based on immigration status.  Got specific questions? Submit them to heather@hgbusinesslaw.com by February 14 and our presenters will answer them during the workshop!\n\n	\n\n	--\n\n	Heather Satin is a business and employment lawyer\, and has been admitted to practice law in California and Canada. Before opening HG\, Heather acted as a Director of Continuing Legal Education Programs for Continuing Education of the Bar\, a joint nonprofit program of the University of California and the State Bar\, where she produced California-focused classes in Business & Employment Law\, Real Property\, Civil Litigation\, Estate Planning\, and Family Law.  Prior to that\, Heather served as the editorial director of Thomson Reuters' California Legal Editorial Operations Center and Managing Editor for Thomson Legal & Regulatory.  Heather received her B.A. in Economics from McGill University in Montreal\, and her LL.B. from the University of New Brunswick\, Canada.\n\n	Galia Aharoni is a business and employment law practitioner licensed in both California and Louisiana.  Before opening HG\, Galia served as a Business Development Attorney for Continuing Education of the Bar\, and practiced law with both private firms and government organizations.  Galia received her B.A. from the University of California\, Santa Cruz\, and her J.D. from Tulane Law School where she received Honors in Trial Advocacy.\n\n	Together\, Heather and Galia founded HG Business Law\, LLP\, a 21st century law firm in South Lake Tahoe that that focuses on business development and business-related issues\, including employment and immigration\, where they assist business owners and employees in navigating the workplace relationship\, and help entrepreneurs plan for\, grow\, and excel at the businesses they love!
