Description
Candidates for the District 5 El Dorado County Supervisor will participate in a public forum on July 29 at 6:30 pm at the California Conservation Corps (CCC) Tahoe Center. TahoeChamber, Tahoe Daily Tribune and Tahoe Regional Young Professionals will host the forum in anticipation of the November election in which two candidates, Kenny Curtzwiler and Sue Novasel, will campaign for the position to be vacated by current Supervisor Norma Santiago.
Out of six candidates, Novasel came out ahead in the June 3 primary with 1,557 votes (28.47% of total votes) while Curtzwiler joined her in second place with 977 votes (17.87%). Novasel and Curtzwiler, both of Meyers, have demonstrated their commitment to the community and are active in their separate roles: Novasel through her seat on the Lake Tahoe Unified School District Board of Education and involvement in Soroptomist International; Curtzwiler through his involvement with Christmas Cheer and rededication of the Children’s Memorial Tree. Both candidates are small business owners: Novasel owns Tahoe Dream Events and Curtzwiler K & K Services. Their reputations, hard work and love of Tahoe have cemented their status as community leaders in the South Shore.
The forum will provide attendees the opportunity to hear each candidate’s varying positions on issues impacting South Lake Tahoe, as well as the whole of El Dorado County. Representatives from the forum’s sponsors will ask the candidates questions on behalf of their respective constituencies. The forum is free and open to the public.
The CCC Tahoe Center is located at 1949 Apache Ave in South Lake Tahoe, CA. For more information, contact TahoeChamber by phone at (775) 588-1728 or by email at info@tahoechamber.org.
