Create Your Business Plan Workshop
The Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of South Lake Tahoe, is offering a Create Your Business Plan workshop series this fall on three consecutive Wednesdays beginning August 20. By the end of the three 90-minute sessions participants will have a completed draft of a business plan. Topics covered during the sessions include business vision and mission, overall business objectives, competitor analysis, unique selling proposition, business strategies, budget, income projections, startup capital and an action plan that describes what specific tasks entrepreneurs must complete now and going forward as they grow their businesses. This workshop is ideal for those thinking about starting a new business or current business owners who need to update or fine tune their existing plans. The series will be held on August 20, 27 and September 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the TahoeChamber at 169 Hwy. 50, Stateline, Nevada. The cost of the workshop, which is being offered as part of the Tahoe Tactical Team coaching program, is $25 for all three sessions or $10 per session for TahoeChamber members and $50 for all three sessions or $20 per session for non-members.

Business Summit at LTCC
The Business Summit will be held on September 30th from 11:30am - 1:00pm facilitated by the Deputy Sector Navigator (DSN), Small Business Program. The DSN program is a California Community Colleges Doing What Matters program in partnership with TahoeChamber. The Business Summit is geared towards business owners/employers. Our focus is to engage in a discussion with employers to identify skills gaps employees', high school and/or community college graduates, possess when they enter into the workplace. Our goal is to share our findings with academia in an attempt to align curricula to eliminate skills gaps better preparing students for the workforce. We were hoping that the Chamber would assist us with marketing this event to local businesses/employers.
